With the final deadline for entries now extended for one more week, Perthshire Music Festival has already seen a return to pre-pandemic participation levels. In particular, Perform in Perth’s Gaelic classes been filling up fast.
Perform in Perth’s Secretary, Eileen Waterston commented, “The recent highly successful National Mod in Perth has probably been a major factor in attracting so many choirs and individual entries to Perform in Perth this year. We are delighted to see such a strong field of competitors signing up.”
“Entries have been coming in from across Perthshire and beyond, including Stirling and Inverness.”
The ten day Festival will start on Monday 6 March, at venues across Perthshire. The competitions feature choral, vocal, instrumental, speech class, pipes and drums and dance, including Baton Twirling and Scottish Country Dancing. The Gaelic classes are scheduled for Monday 6 March and will take place in St John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Princes Street.
Last minute entries are still invited for all classes – the deadline is now Friday 20 January.
